Title: Privacy Policy for inkScript
Effective Date: July 24, 2026
1. Overview
inkScript is designed for distraction-free writing using your own devices. We collect no personal data, do not track you, and do not send any information to us or third-party servers. All content you type stays under your control.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect, store, or access: names, emails, device IDs, location, contacts, usage analytics, or any identifiers.
- There is no user account system, login, or telemetry.
- We do not use advertising, analytics SDKs (e.g., Firebase, Google Analytics), or any tracking technologies.
3. How Data is Handled
- Typed Content: Everything you write is stored locally on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. inkScript uses iCloud sync — this is fully controlled by Apple's privacy protections and your iCloud settings. We do not access or process this data.
- Local Network Access: inkScript runs a simple, temporary web server on your device to display your text on an e-ink reader (e.g., Kindle) via a local IP address (e.g., http://192.168.x.x).
- This server is only active while the app is open and you're using the feature.
- Important: Anyone connected to the same local Wi-Fi network could potentially access the page if they enter the displayed IP address. The content visible is only what you've typed in the current session.
- To minimize risk: Use this feature only on trusted/private networks (e.g., home Wi-Fi). Close the app when not in use. We recommend against using it on public/shared networks.
- Export/Copy: When you manually copy text, export to another app (e.g., Notes, Google Docs), or paste elsewhere, that's handled by iOS — we do not intercept or store it.
4. Third Parties
- The app uses Google Fonts (loaded via their public CDN when viewing on the e-ink browser). This may involve a one-time network request from the e-ink device to fonts.googleapis.com — we do not control or receive this data. Fonts are open-source and free for commercial use.
- No other third-party services, SDKs, or partners are involved in data processing.
5. Children's Privacy
inkScript is not directed at children under 13 (or relevant age in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
6. Changes to This Policy
We'll update this policy if features change meaningfully and notify users via app update notes.
